Speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil

This year’s Winter Wander fared slightly better than last year from a weather point of view, but was still pretty muddy at times.

We all met on the appointed hour (OK, quite some time after the appointed hour, but we’ll let that go…) at the Middleton Top car park and headed out across Middleton Moor.

At first, things didn’t look too promising, but the weather gradually improved and before long it turned into quite a sunny day – well, sunny for January at any rate. More of a coats-on than a coats-off sort of day though.

We followed a circuitous route over the moor, though Middleton itself and down past Dene Quarry into Cromford. From Cromford it was back along the canal, with a stop at the Mill Cafe, naturally, before the long haul up the incline back to Middleton Top.

After that it was back to chez Tom for an evening of music, banter and trivial pursuit followed by a selection of chilli, meatballs and/or prawn curry.

Wander on and see you all at Sherwood.
