Skiddaw from the southern end of Derwent Water
Back to the Lake District for the Autumn Wander in September 2011, this time to visit Derwent Water YHA, located, as the name suggests, along the shores of Derwent Water.
The day started off quite cloudy and wet as we caught a boat across Derwent Water to Hawes End. The main goal for the day being a walk up to Cat Bells and back down to the southern end of Derwent Water.
Fortunately, the weather cleared and we were rewarded with great views of Derwent Water and the fells, including Skiddaw in the distance beyond Keswick.
