Tea in the garden
A return trip to Castleton for the Summer Wander of 2015. We’ve stayed here before, but at the old hostel in the town; this time we were at the new hostel, Losehill Hall.
On the whole the old place was probably better, having a bit more character to it it, but the new place had pretty extensive gardens for the kids to wander around in.
On Saturday we chose a route which first took us up Lose Hill (and then back down again) and then on up to Win Hill for some spectacular views of the ridge out to Mam Tor and surrounding countryside. You can view the route for the walk here.
On Sunday we headed into Castleton for Open Garden day which pretty much amounted to wandering around various gardens going ooh and aah as we marvelled at the hidden terraces, nooks, crannies, swings, springs and plantlife.
